QR menu and digital ordering for restaurants

Guests scan the QR code at the table, see the menu on their phone, and order without downloading an app. The kitchen receives the order instantly, payment goes to the restaurant's own Stripe account, and daily sales are booked automatically to Fiken, Tripletex or PowerOffice.

  • AI import of existing PDF menu in 30 seconds
  • GDPR-compliant — hosted in the EU (Frankfurt)

Who is Flowder for?

Flowder is built for regular Norwegian venues: gastropubs, family-run restaurants, hotel restaurants, take-away venues and lunch spots in shopping centres. It complements existing POS systems (like Duell, Zettle, PowerOffice) and does not require cash register certification — we handle menu, ordering and digital payment; you keep your existing register for cash sales and tax authority reporting.

Why a digital QR menu?

Paper menus are expensive to print, slow to correct, and give guests a poor first impression when tattered or missing daily specials. A digital QR menu can be updated in seconds — sold-out items dim automatically, price changes take effect immediately, and seasonal menus swap without printing costs. On top of that, QR menus enable in-menu ordering and payment, reducing wait time and increasing average order size by 10–22 % according to industry studies.

What the restaurant gets

Flowder gives you a complete guest app under your own URL (meny.noblewolf.no/m/<restaurant>). The menu is multilingual (Norwegian, English, German, French, Spanish), with images, allergens, prep times and availability per dish. Guests can choose “Dine in” at a table (each QR HMAC-signed), “Take-away” with pickup time, or “Delivery” with configurable fee and free-over threshold. Orders go straight to the kitchen display (iPad-optimized KDS with audio ping), payment is via Stripe with card or Vipps/MobilePay, and the restaurant is paid directly to its own bank account.

Kitchen display (KDS) included

An iPad on the kitchen wall running our KDS gives the cook full overview — received, preparing and ready orders shown as color-coded cards. The display pings on new orders and the cook confirms with a single tap: “Start preparing” → “Mark ready” → “Served”. No hardware beyond the tablet — with a printer bong option for kitchens that prefer it.

Vipps, MobilePay and card — restaurant owns the money

All payments run through Stripe Connect: the customer pays in the menu, the money goes directly to the restaurant’s own Stripe account (payout to Norwegian bank account the next business day). Flowder never touches customer funds. Payment methods include Vipps (via the MobilePay integration after the 2022 merger), Visa, Mastercard, and Apple/Google Pay. Take-away and delivery require prepayment — dine-in at tables can continue with waiter settlement as before.

Automatic bookkeeping: Fiken, Tripletex, PowerOffice

Every night at 03:00 UTC we summarize the day’s orders into one balanced journal entry per location: Debit 1920 Bank and 1900 Cash, Credit 3000 Sales, with VAT rate from your setup. The entry is posted directly to Fiken, Tripletex or PowerOffice Go via their API, and the restaurant sees the voucher immediately in the accounting system. No manual entry, no double bookkeeping, and full traceability from order to voucher.

AI import: upload your old menu as PDF

We know that entering 60 dishes by hand takes hours. That’s why Flowder has AI-powered menu import: upload your existing menu as PDF or images (up to 10 pages, 32 MB per file), and our AI engine reads categories, dishes, prices and descriptions automatically. A finished menu in 30 seconds that you can polish afterwards. Basic plan includes 2 imports per month — enough for seasonal changes. Pro is unlimited.

Built for Norwegian conditions

Flowder is built by Noblewolf in Norway, with Norwegian as the primary language and full support for Norwegian-specific needs: Vipps as payment method, Norwegian organization numbers, VAT rates 25 %, 15 % (food) and 12 % (transport), integrations with Norwegian accounting systems, hosting in EU jurisdiction (Cloudflare + Bunny, Frankfurt), and Norwegian customer support from us directly. We do not take transaction fees — you pay only a fixed monthly subscription.

Certified cash register or not?

Flowder is not a certified cash register system — and this is by design. The Norwegian Cash Register Systems Act requires certification for cash sales, and our platform complements existing POS solutions (Duell, PowerOffice, Zettle etc.) rather than replacing them. We handle menu, ordering and digital payment; your existing register handles cash sales and tax authority requirements. This model gives you maximum flexibility without replacing your entire infrastructure.
